It has been exactly 100 years since the end of the "Great World War."
It was so brutal it was declared "The War to End All Wars".
Armistice Day has now become Veterans Day.
Instead of celebrating the end of war, we celebrate the warrior.

We exist in a world of tension, alienation and division. A dark cloud of fear and paranoia threatens our sense of well being. We are waging new forms of world and civil war.

I am a combat veteran who cannot escape my past. My work has evolved from aggressively anti-war to an introspective exploration of my upbringing. Participating in combat has focused my attention on war and violence on many levels. I have come to the conclusion that our children are doomed to exist in a culture of conflict, violence and war.

I question the very nature of civilization. From my perspective, we are slipping backward and are creating more sophisticated ways to be barbaric. I am saddened and frustrated by generations in constant conflict, perpetuating senseless wars.

War is made into games,
Games are turned into war.
Children are turned into warriors.
Life is War.

I was born in Utica, raised, and still live in Mattydale.
I attended both Roxboro elementary and middle schools.
I earned Eagle Scout at St. Margaret's troop 158.
